When they had threatened them further, they let them go (findingnobasis on which to punish them) 1on account of the people, because they were all2glorifyingGod for what had happened;

for the man was more than fortyyears old on whomthismiracle of healing had been performed.

When they had been released, they went to their own companions and reportedall that the chiefpriests and the elders had said to them.

And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with oneaccord and said, "O Lord, it is You who 3MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM

who 4by the HolySpirit, through the mouth of our fatherDavid Your servant, said, '5WHY* DID THE GENTILESRAGE, AND THE PEOPLESDEVISEFUTILETHINGS?

'6THE KINGS OF THE EARTHTOOK THEIR STAND, AND THE RULERS WERE GATHEREDTOGETHER**AGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS 7CHRIST.'

For truly* in thiscity there were gatheredtogetheragainst Your holy8servantJesus, whom You anointed, both9Herod and 10PontiusPilate, along with 11the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,

to dowhatever Your hand and 12Your purposepredestined to occur.

"And now, Lord, takenote of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may 13speak Your word with all14confidence,

while You extend Your hand to heal, and 15signs and wonderstakeplacethrough the name of Your holy16servantJesus."

And when they had prayed, the 17placewhere* they had gatheredtogether was shaken, and they were all18filled with the HolySpirit and began to 19speak the word of God with 20boldness.

32 And the congregation of those who believed were of oneheart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anythingbelonging to him was his own, but 21allthings were commonproperty to them.

And 22with greatpower the apostles were giving23testimony to the resurrection of the LordJesus, and abundantgrace was upon them all.
