Psalms 106:10 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 106:10

And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them
As Pharaoh and his people did, because of their numerous increase, which they endeavoured to prevent; and still more because of the plagues inflicted on them; and now because they were got away from them, and therefore pursued them in great wrath and indignation, ( Exodus 15:9 ) .

And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy;
the same thing in different words; so the Lord Christ has saved and redeemed his people out of the hand of all their spiritual enemies; and those that hate them and war against them, as sin, Satan, and the world, ( Luke 1:71 Luke 1:74 ) .

Psalms 106:10 In-Context

8 Yet he saved them for his name's sake, so that he might make known his mighty power.
9 He rebuked the Red Sea, and it became dry; he led them through the deep as through a desert.
10 So he saved them from the hand of the foe, and delivered them from the hand of the enemy.
11 The waters covered their adversaries; not one of them was left.
12 Then they believed his words; they sang his praise.
