in which you 2formerlywalkedaccording to the course of 3thisworld, according to 4the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is nowworking in 5the sons of disobedience.
3
Among them we tooall6formerlylived in 7the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were 8by nature9children of wrath, 10even as the rest.
4
But God, being11rich in mercy, because of 12His greatlove with which He loved us,
5
even when we were 13dead in our transgressions, made us alivetogether with Christ (14by grace you have beensaved ),
6
and 15raised us up with Him, and 16seated us with Him in 17the heavenly places in 18ChristJesus,
7
so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing19riches of His grace in 20kindnesstoward us in ChristJesus.
8
For 21by grace you have been saved22throughfaith; and that not of yourselves, it is 23the gift of God;
9
24not as a result of works, so that 25noone may boast.
10
For we are His workmanship, 26created in 27ChristJesus for 28goodworks, whichGod29preparedbeforehandso that we would 30walk in them.
11
Thereforeremember that 31formerly32you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called "33Uncircumcision" by the so-called "34Circumcision," which is performed in the flesh by humanhands -
12
remember that you were at that timeseparate from Christ, 35excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to 36the covenants of promise, having37nohope and 38withoutGod in the world.
13
But now in 39ChristJesus you who40formerly were 41faroff have 42beenbroughtnear43by the blood of Christ.
14
For He Himself is 44our peace, 45who madeboth groups into one and brokedown the barrier of the dividingwall,
15
by 46abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is 47the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might 48make the two into 49onenewman, thus establishing50peace,
16
and might 51reconcile them both in 52onebody to Godthrough the cross, by it having 53put to death the enmity.
17
AND 54HE CAME AND PREACHED55PEACE TO YOU WHO WERE 56FARAWAY, AND PEACE TO THOSE WHO WERE 57NEAR;
18
for through Him we bothhave58our access in 59oneSpirit to 60the Father.
19
Sothen you are nolonger61strangers and aliens, but you are 62fellowcitizens with the saints, and are of 63God'shousehold,
20
having been 64built on 65the foundation of 66the apostles and prophets, 67ChristJesusHimselfbeing the 68corner stone,
21
69in whom the wholebuilding, being fittedtogether, is growing into 70a holytemple in the Lord,
22
in whom you also are being 71builttogether into a 72dwelling of God in the Spirit.
