Psalms 94:22

22 But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

Psalms 94:22 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 94:22

But the Lord is my defence
The defence of his church and people, of all the righteous, against those great armies of their enemies that gather together against them: the Targum, in the king's Bible is,

``the Word of the Lord shall be my weapon:''

and my God is the rock of my refuge;
to whom recourse is had for shelter from the enemy, and against which the gates of hell cannot prevail: both characters, rock and refuge, agree with Christ, the essential Word of the Lord.

Psalms 94:22 In-Context

20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
22 But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.
